HUMANITARIAN AID; Government School Buea Town Pupils to Emulate Elali Efoe’s Example

Pupils of Groups I and II of Government School (GS) Buea Town have been encourage to borrow a leaf from Mola Godfrey Elali Efoe Jr. of the USA who has the spirit of blessing others with what God has blessed him with.
A representative of the Inspector of Basic Education for Buea, Sophie Mojoko Mbua, made this call on Friday January 10, 2016, during the presentation of end of year results and special prize ceremony of 120 awards sponsored by Mola Elali Efoe.

General trends in mathematics results at the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination in Cameroon, especially at the Ordinary level, show less than 12.5% pass rates every year. Many students fail the subject before they even sit the exams. Though some students who excel in science subjects also do fail the subject, most of those whose focus is in Art subjects see the subject as a no-go area.

Saker Baptist College, Limbe, one of Cameroon’s best schools, held its graduation and prize-giving ceremony on Saturday 17th of May, 2014.
The event was attended by the principal of the college Mrs Matuke Stella Tonge, guest speaker Dr Njwa Eyere, staff of the establishment and the entire student body. This ceremony was also organised to officially send forth its 53rd Batch of Form Five students (the class of 2009 year of admission into Form One) and 26th Batch of Upper Sixth students. Upon arrival the students, staff and guests were greeted by a beautifully decorated church hall that had the glamour and glitz of Hollywood Oscars yet the prestige of the Nobel Prize awards. Beautifully decorated cakes bearing the names of some students were all too clear for everyone to see.

The University of Buea, Cameroon, has produced its best ever GPA student  and the first ever PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication from a university in Cameroon. This graduation ceremony witnessed a female undergraduate student, Njantan Njachen Ursulla Dulvine, graduating with a 3.93 GPA in Biochemistry and another student, Ngange Lyonga Kingsley graduating with First Class Honours PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication.

The new method the authorities of the Cameroon GCE Board adopted to release this year’s GCE results led to lots of tension and uncertainty amongst candidates and their relatives.
