Members of one of the most powerful Bakweri youth forum called Bakweri Youths Association (BAYA) have gladly celebrated the first wedding between two of their members. Members of the association joined their members, Efome Ferdinard Motutu and Victoria Enanga Vefonge and their family on November 24, 2018 to celebrate the civil and traditional marriage that took place in Great Soppo Buea.
Members of the Bakweri Language and Literacy Association (BALALIA) now have a sigh of relief after receiving financial support from a US based organization composed of Fakoland indigenes residing in the USA called Fako Foundation, Incorporated (USA).
The marriage celebration of Emilia Eposi Ewule and Emmanuel Nyoki Likuka all of Fakoland took place on Saturday June 23, 2018, in Buea. The legalisation of the union was done at the Civil Status Registry of Great Soppo, Buea.
After taking their marital vows and exchanging rings, the couple moved to an event hall located at Mile 17, Buea, for celebration and feasting with relatives and friends.
Mola David Ngale Maenye has confirmed the receipt of the sum of FCFA 100,000 for winning “Wana Wa Phako Global Bakweri Person of the Year 2017” award. This money was handed to him recently after the head of the award committee, Mola Henri Walla, announced him 2017 winner of the award.
One of the most influential and charismatic leaders in Fako Division, H.R.H. Chief Molinge Ikome David of Upper Muea is now with his ancestors. An official funeral serviced oganised for the late Chief took place on the 13th and 14th of April 2018 in Upper Muea, Buea Subdivision.
Mola kome Likambi David Terence and wife Claudia Andrea Reiter, on Saturday March 31, 2018, stunned the Wokwai (Bokwai) community in Buea to give a traditional colour to their union.
The ceremony that took place in the Ekome Likambi’s residence in Wokwai witnessed the performance of traditional dances like Cha-Cha and Lingombi, and also choral singing.
Over 200 patients around Buea and the Bokwaongo community in particular have benefited from a free health care organised in memory of Late Eya Enanga Litumbe. The event that was opened to the young and old took place at the Bokwaongo Health Centre from 7am to 3pm on Saturday March 17, 2018.
The mortal remains of Mrs. Elinge Cecilia Nduma who passed unto glory on February 5, 2018 have been laid to rest. Mrs Elinge who died after a brief illness at the Kumba District Hospital was laid to rest in their Bova I residence on Saturday January 3, 2018.
The squabble over who succeeds the late Paramount chief of Buea, H.R.H., Samuel Moka Lifafa Endeley has been put to rest. After series of consultation talks between administrative authorities and the Buea Kingmakers, Prince Robert Esuka Endeley was on Monday February 5, 2018 elected to mount the traditional stool that has been empty years after Chief Endeley joint his ancestors.
The Bonakanda Royal Palace on Saturday February 3, 2018 played host to the traditional marriage ceremony of Princess Sally Namondo Ndongo and Otto Lyonga Enyame. The marriage witnessed the performance of all marital rituals as demanding by the customs and traditions of the Wakpwe (indigenous people of Fako Division, Cameroon).
Some BONAVADA youths home and abroad on Saturday December 23, 2017 gathered at the Wonakanda (Bonakanda) Community field to pay homage to some of their brothers who have gone ahead.To honour their late brothers, Mbua Njie Lawrence and Mbella Mondoa, a football match was organized pairing BONAVADA Veteran Football Club against BONAVADA Selection (a selection of players who have played in football teams that have participated in inter-quarter football competitions organised in the community).

Issues surrounding the Fako Division Land Crisis have turned sour in recent weeks. The issue that has been a hot potato in a radio programme on CRTV Buea Regional station called Press Club, actually got a new twist when members of the panel started naming and shaming traditional and administrative authorities who are conniving to seize land ceded by the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC), to the indigenous people of the Division.Hell practically broke loose when the highest authority of the South West Region, Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, was named as having used his powers as Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Fako Division years back and presently as the Governor of the South West Region to illegally grab land ceded to Fako Division indigenous people.

The first edition of the Dr. David Makongo BONAVADA Youth Tournament came to an end on Saturday August 31, 2013, at the Bokova Community field in grand style. Bova United are this year’s champions of the Musonge Musoke Memorial BONAVADA Football competition that took place in Wonakanda village, Buea. They scored the winning goal from the penalty spot during normal playing time. The final that was played on Saturday 25 August, 2012, pitted Bova United against Okada (commercial motorbike riders) FC.
Some twenty students from the BONAVADA area studying in the University of Buea Cameroon have received a back-to-school package from one of their brothers in the United States of America, Dr David Njie Makongo (Ph.D.). The package that came in the form financial support (50,000 frs per student) is to enable the students pay their registration fees next academic year into the University of Buea.
The initiation rights to admit Mola Martin Yangange Musonge into one of the strongest arm of ‘Nganya-Mahleh, a Bakweri secret society, have taken place in Wonakanda village, Buea sub-division, Cameroon.
