BONAVADA INDEGENES RAISE MONEY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THEIR COMMUNITY WATER PROJECT
The sum of one million two hundred and fifty-three thousand two hundred and fifty (1,253,250) FCFA is the cash at hand that the Bokova, Bova, Bonakanda Area Development Association (BONAVADA) has so far realised as money meant for maintenance and improvement of their community water project. For the first time in the History of the Bakweri tribe, the most outstanding Bakweri students at the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels and Vocational training were brought together in the same building to receive awards and certificates from the same organisation. Bakweri graduands have made their communities and relatives proud by graduating among the top students from various departments of the University of Buea, Cameroon. Results presented at the university’s graduation ceremony on Friday 17 December, 2010, depict that of the over 2000 granduands, the host, Fako Division, carved out an encouraging proportion. Members of the Fako Community in the United States of America met in Arlington, Dallas, for their annual convention on the 25th, 26th and 27th June. It was another successful convention held by this community, with some members elected to form a new executive. Fako natives from all over America made it one of the best conventions in Fako America History, emulating last year's convention in Chicago. The City of Washington will host next year's convention. With Washington hosting the next convention, there is almost 100 per cent guarantee of a very successful event as the Fako natives in Washington are regarded by many (including people from outside of the USA) to be the most traditional and best performing Fako group in the USA. The 2008 tourism pageant in Cameroon cum Miss South West Region Lux 2010, Christiana Eposi Ikome, would take the stage again on 10 April, 2010, this time to contest for the Miss Cameroon Lux 2010 title.
