CELEBRATION OF THE 22ND EDITION OF THE WORLD TEACHERS DAY IN LIMBE

On Monday October 5th 2015 at the Manga Williams Avenue in Limbe, the teachers of all schools came together and celebrated world teachers’ day.
This day was set aside to honour and celebrate all teachers both nationally and internationally. The theme for this day was, ‘’Empowering Teachers, building sustainable societies’’. This theme was given to encourage teachers about their work and urge them to keep on being diligent. The teachers also urged the government to invest in training more teachers and giving them excellent teaching facilities. Despite this, it was a day of joy as the teachers displayed their colourful attires and had four different category of material for this special day to choose from.
The day started off with singing the national anthem of the country, national anthem of the teachers, a poem by the principal of GTHS (Government Technical High School), dressing parade by teachers of Ecole Francophone, speeches from the principal of secondary education, S.D.O and a speech from (LITA) which is Limbe Teachers Association. Also there was an academic discourse which involved the responsibility of the government to boost up the teachers
This event was attended by traditional rulers, government delegate of the Limbe city council Mr Andrew Motanga, Lord Mayor Rodanny Mbua and the S.D.O. All in all this was a day of celebration of all teachers.
