Some 120 pupils in Group I and II of Government Primary School Buea Town have been awarded prizes for academic excellence.  The prizes that included text and notes books worth 500,000 FCFA were donated by Godfrey Elali Efoe Jr. who is based in the United States of America.
The prizes were presented to the best 10 pupils from each of classes One to Five and for the best five pupils in each of Classes 6 of each Group on Friday June 5, 2015 when results of the promotion exams were released.
The prizes for the first pupils from classes one to five in both Groups constituted text books for English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge subjects (Geography, History, Civics and Citizenship, Sciences etc) and Information and Communication Technology.
The second prizes constituted English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge subjects text books while the third prize package had a Mathematic and an English textbook all textbooks to be use in the next class.  The fourth to the tenth pupil in each class also received exercise books to take their notes next year. The Head boy and Head girl of both groups also received special prizes for instilling discipline in the school.

While presenting the prizes, the representative of Mola Elali Efoe, Mola Moki Stephen Mokondo, announced to the pupils and their parents that Mola Elali is a former pupil of the school who has the interest of his community at heart. He explained that Mola Elali Efoe is donating the prizes to encourage them to perform well in academics so that they would in return come to support the development of their community when they succeed in life.
Talking on behalf of the parents, the President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Mola Libwea Wose, expressed gratitude and said only a few people like Mola Elali Efoe can turn and look back from where he started. He explained that they were overwhelmed when the head teachers, Mrs. Sarah Mokenge of Group One and Mrs. Emilia Orock of Group Two announced during one of their PTA meetings that a former pupil of the school has sent prizes to encourage academic excellence in the school. He prayed Mola Moki to extend their message of gratitude to the donor.

This is the second time Godfrey Elali Efoe Jr. is donating prizes to the school Government Secondary School Buea Town. For over three years now, he has also been sponsoring students in secondary schools and the University by paying their fees.
