                       12th February 2014

Primary school pupils and high school students in Limbe celebrated Youth Day with a colourful march pass and other activities that expose the talents of the youth. In Cameroon, 11th February is the day Southern Cameroonians went to the polls and chose re-unification with their brothers of the East. Hence, this date has been chosen by the government as a reflection to nurture responsible youth.

During this day, various youth activities are carried out such as workshops, parades, cultural display, community service and inter-school competition. The day is also marked by government officials who watch the procession. Also, the government uses this period to promote representatives from various youth associations and private individuals to come together yearly so as to discuss moral issues concerning the youth of Cameroon.
