ACADEMIC HONOURS 2008: FAKO DIVISION

 

 Fako Division has always been proud of the men and women who  bring dignity to the division. Below are some of the boys and girls and some of the schools that brought Fako Division the most dignity in the field of education in the year 2008. FAKO NEWS CENTRE wishes all the students named below the best of good luck in all their endeavours. FAKO NEWS CENTRE also wishes all the schools named below the best of luck in trying to maintain high standards in the quality of teaching and learning, and in their achievements in public examinations.

               PART A: GCE ADVANCED LEVEL

 

The following students achieved an A grade in each of the five subjects that they did in the GCE Advanced level examination in the year 2008.

v     Happi Ngankou Emmanuel of St Joseph’s College Sasse, Buea: Biology-A, Chemistry-A, Maths-A, Further Maths-A, Physics-A

v     Nnap Latifa Mady of Saker Baptist College, Limbe: Biology-A, Chemistry-A, Maths-A, Further Maths-A, Physics-A

v     Sama Babila Carlson of Government High School, Limbe:  Biology-A, Chemistry-A, Maths-A, Further Maths-A, Physics-A

v     Tom Bemsibom Chia of Baptist High School, Buea: Biology-A, Chemistry-A, Maths-A, Further Maths-A, Physics-A

     

       

               PART B: GCE ORDINARY LEVEL

 

1)      Putting  together ‘passed in any 4 or more subjects’, passed in 4 or more subjects including English, and passed in 4 or more subjects including Mathematics, the following schools(out of 44 schools) in Fako Division attained a GRADE ‘A’ STATUS, and they are listed in order of merit:

Saker Baptist College, Limbe

St Joseph’s College Sasse, Buea

Bishop Rogan College, Buea

Baptist High School(former BBSS), Buea

      Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary school, Buea..

 

2)      Saker Baptist College, Limbe, was the only school in Fako division that achieved a GRADE A in Mathematics in the GCE ‘O’ Level examination.

 

3)      Namanou Ines Emma Woks of Saker Baptist College, Limbe, was the only student in Fako Division who achieved a grade A in EACH of  the eleven subjects that she did in the 2008 GCE ‘O’ level examination.

 

4)      Of the top ten students in Fako division in the ‘O’ Levels:

Four came from Saker Baptist College:

one came from Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary School, Buea:

one came from Sasse College, Buea:

one came from Bilingual Grammar School, Molyko, Buea:

            one came from Government High School, Tiko:

one came from Bishop Rogan College, Buea:

one came from Government High School, Limbe.

     PART C: University of Buea Graduation

     One student of Fako origin, Samuel Esuka Otte, was awarded a prize for being the best student in his department. Mr Otte graduates with a Second Class Upper Division, Gross Cumulative Average (G.P.A.) of 3.20. He receives a prize from Cameroon’s Telecommunication Network provider, CAMTEL for the best student in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Out of a total of 2389 graduands in the bachelors, masters and PhD Degrees awarded, only one graduand was admitted into the Ph.D. The lone Ph.D graduand, Ngemenya Moses Njutain has been awarded a Ph.D in Biochemistry
